You’re reading The Complete Infinite Crisis, a Comprehensive and Encyclopedic look through the universe-changing superhero event published by DC from 2005 to 2006. Shelfdust are proud to provide a complete overview of the story, and everything that happens in it. We’ve had to get some experts in though – there’s so much going on that needs to be explained!

Oh baby we’ve heard the blues a-calling, and we’ve been spending a lot of time in Seattle recently, as our investigation into Infinite Crisis has led us deep into the lore of Frasier. And when we cover Frasier, we cover it PROPERLY. James Leech, report to the site immediately! We’ve got to talk about Eddie!!

James! This keeps coming up and nobody will explain it to me. Who is Eddie?

James Leech: Eddie is Martin Crane’s pet dog, and the son he relates to most.

How is Eddie’s relationship with Frasier, in particular?

Leech: Eddie and Frasier are adversarial, for the most part. Like the Barca Lounger (GET IT?? BARKER??), Eddie represents his Dad’s relaxed, comfy lifestyle. Eddie does things because he enjoys them, not because he wants to be seen to have good taste.

Frasier imposes his upper-crust rules on Eddie, and Eddie pushes back on this with solemn stares and well-timed pranks. Frasier could stand to learn a lot from Eddie, and deep down he knows this. There is affection there, despite their differences – just as there is with his Dad.

If you had to describe Eddie in only a few words, how good of a boy would you say he is?

Leech: Eddie is the best of boys. He is smart, responds to various commands, and pulls off hijinks and capers while remaining loyal to his master.

Thanks James! I knew we’d be in trouble if we didn’t give people some Eddie content!! But next – on to some more humans, I think!
